In accordance with new guidance from the Montgomery County Health Department, KOPSC is updating its masking policy EFFECTIVE FRIDAY, MAY 14, to include the following:
Masks are optional while players are competing on the field of play when playing in counties that have lifted mask mandates for competitive sports, including Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery Counties. It is the responsibility of coaches and teams to request masking guidance for away games in other geographic areas. Teams that are playing in SEPA must continue to wear masks, per league guidance.
Masks must continue to be worn by players, coaches, and spectators while on the sidelines and while walking to and from the fields and parking lot.
Because the Montgomery County Health Department has not fully examined the impact of today’s CDC release of the masking mandate for fully vaccinated individuals, there are currently NO EXCEPTIONS to the mask mandate for coaches and spectators through the end of the spring season. KOPSC will review and revise this after the spring season ends and before summer competitive academy training begins.
Finally, these guidelines do not change any quarantining requirements for those receiving positive COVID tests. We continue to ask you to follow all county health department guidelines following positive tests and alert the KOPSC COVID officer, Matt Wintersteen, at email@example.com, so that team-level decisions can be made, if necessary.
As we continue to navigate our way through this global pandemic and its impact on our community, please do your part to be safe and follow all stated guidelines.
